We had a great time at the
famous Tipitina’s, where on
Sunday nights they have a very
welcoming Cajun dance party.
Hang around long enough and
one of the regulars will ask you
for a turn around the room. Some
of these folks really know their steps!

From the sublime acme of the
French 75, we eventually wound
up at The Dungeon, a death-metal
bar off of Bourbon Street, and a
haunt of my friend’s wayward
youth…when one entered by crawling
through a hole in the wall.

I dined with a friend at
one the finer establishments
I’ve had a pleasure to visit
in New Orleans, Arnaud’s.
Although abutting it,
Arnaud’s is a world away from
Bourbon Street’s vulgar tackiness.
It is also home to the wonderful
French 75 bar, whose superb
cocktails are lovingly prepared
by the great mixologist,
Chris Hannah.
